Losing weight fast is a big stress for the body

Weigh loss has always been a big, sensitive topic that concerns both men and women. A lot of magazines, blogs and websites post and print stories and articles about how to lose 10 pounds in 1 week or how to lose weight following this and that diet.

Almost everybody falls for those articles, because they are desperate enough to believe that it’s possible. We all want changes to be easy to achieve. Maybe like waving with a magic wand, but that happens only in fairy-tales and movies. In real live you have to work hard for everything.

Just take a moment and ask yourself:

“Is it possible to do that in such short period of time and to keep my weight after that?”

Losing weight fast is a big stress to the body. If you want to lose those 10 pounds and not to gain them back in a few days it’s important to think about changing a few things in your life:

  • Changing your diet for good is the way to start. Don’t think that if you give up sugar, white bread and fizzy drinks only for a week until you lose those 10 pounds is the way to go. You have to change your way of eating and thinking about food. Many people live to eat and others eat to live. I am not saying ether one of those types is the right. You have to keep the balance in your life.
  • Training is something you should add to your daily routine if you want really to lose weight and to keep it this way. There are many things you can try like: yoga, cardio exercises, running, fast walking, fitness and so on. Find what makes you happy and give you energy and find time to do it every day or at least 3-4 times a week.
  • Drastic changes are not good for your body. You need time to adjust to everything that you put yourself through. Take your time and everything will work out.
  • Stress is another factor that reflects on your weight. Stress effects people in two ways – some people eat a lot to forget what’s bothering them, others forget to eat which can cause a lot of health problems. The best way to deal with stress is to find out what the problem is and to deal with it instead of putting it off.

Making changes is not easy and the first step is always the hardest. Taking this first step is the way to go and you will achieve what you want. Losing weight is a whole process not just a diet that you have to follow for a week.

Make sure you know what you want and that you are doing it for all the right reasons. You have everything that takes to make anything come true.

Calorie reduced diets are also linked with reduced risk of heart diseases and lung problems. But for the first time there has been an understanding that reduction in calorie can affect genes which work on the memory and ageing process of a person.

Dietary restrictions have since long been associated with better health and reducing weight. The including of healthier food items like fruits and vegetables while cutting off the junk food has worked in triggering the body’s health. People following diets which have the restricted play of calories and carbs tend to have a much fitter and healthier body.

This does not in any way mean that restricting calories will keep you youthful all your life. The study makes clarification that lesser number of calories slows the ageing process, but ageing shall happen nevertheless.

The benefit of reduced calorie diet is that it reduces the risk of heart diseases, stroke, stress, high blood pressure and also keeping your weight in check. But the impact on the memory and ageing is known for the first time.

To prove this a test was carried on the female mice by Dr. Ginsberg, associate professor at NYU Langone. A female mouse unlike the male mouse is more prone to dementia and proves more significant to study in relation with humans. And thus these female mice were fed pellets which had 30% less calories as compared to the normal pellets. Test of the gene expression over time were done on the mice to understand the impacts of the diet. And continued attention was given on their behavior and any health changes that arise.

The result of the test was presented in the annual meeting of Society of Neuroscience at Washington DC. It said that calorie reduced diet affects huge number of genes in the female mice body which has an impact on memory and ageing. Though this study could not clear that the human body would reiterate the same and would be beneficial for long term too. As restricting humans to long term calorie reduced diet is tough, the study shall take time to work.

Although the study revealed that control on calories and carbs in a diet is healthier for your lifestyle, health and also slows down the ageing process. The scientists also suggest that drinking moderately, not smoking, keeping a healthy diet and maintain weight at all ages is going to have a positive impact on health and reduced ageing.

The Cookie Diet – is there such a thing?

In the world of weight loss, diets are usually at the top of everything. There are hundreds of diets out there that you can try, and the latest that has been gaining popularity is the cookie diet.

There are numerous variations of this diet, but the concept remains the same; replacing a good deal of your diet with cookies. This means that breakfast, lunches and even regular snacks all get replaced with cookies instead.

What is the secret of the Cookie Diet?

Now, while this may sound like a recipe for disaster, especially for individuals with a sweet tooth, the difference between these particular kinds of cookies is the ingredients.

Regular cookies are often filled with too much calories from the refined flour and sugar, but the particular cookies that are consumed within a cookie diet are special.

The reason why these cookies are said to promote the loss of weight is because of their ingredients. These diet cookies are baked with a view to cut down the calories. They are rich in fiber from ingredients such as oats and whole wheat. They are also rich in proteins that can come from a wide variety of nuts.

This combination of ingredients within the cookies makes them very satisfying, meaning that you will feel full after eating just a few cookies. This feeling of satiety is perfect because it prevents overeating or excessive eating, which is often a struggle for many people looking to lose weight.

The cookies themselves can be purchased from the respective cookie diet websites, or for individuals who prefer to make the cookies themselves, and there are cookie recipes available online.

The Glycemic Index Diet

The Glycemic Index Diet is unique because it is based on picking your foods according to the effects these foods have on your blood sugar levels. It was of course first developed as a way to help diabetic patients keep track of the foods they ate and how these foods would affect their blood sugar levels. This resembles calorie counting, and it is based around this the Glycemic Index Diet was developed.

The point of this diet is that some types of carbohydrates raise the blood sugar level very fast and these are the bad carbs. What you want is the carbs that raise blood sugar steadily over a long period of time, because these are the good carbs.

The bad carbs tend to make you feel hungry much sooner, which causes you to snack unnecessarily and more often. The good carbs keep you feeling satisfied for a long period of time, preventing the excessive snacking that often leads to unwanted weight gain.

On the issue of the foods themselves, bad carbs include foods such as white bread, white rice and even refined wheat flour. These foods have a Glycemic Index of 70 and higher.

Foods with a low glycemic index of 55 and under include oats, most fruits, nuts, beans and whole meal foods altogether. There are of course foods that fall in the medium glycemic index range of 56 to 69 such as spaghetti, bananas and even corn on the cob.

Another unique thing about this diet is that it is not only centered on weight loss, but longevity and better health overall.
